Maille Jewelry

Some chain maille jewelry work I've done. These pieces are mostly cheap prototypes and use galvanized steel clasps, as my interest in maille jewelry takes a distant second place to larger elaborate pieces. Of course jewelry is pretty quick and easy to assemble, so if I see something that strikes my fancy or get a unique idea, I'll likely make it for a break from the long-haul projects.

Dragonscale Collar

This is not an original design, but a reproduction of the sterling silver collar seen on Urban Maille. However, unlike theirs, mine has a material cost of about $25 rather than roughly $800-1,200 (depending on your silver supplier), and considering that looks quite decent. I used my typical 18g 1/4" ID sheer-cut rings for the larger, and ~19g 5/32" stainless steel machine cut rings for the smaller.

Dragonflank Wristbands

These matching wristbands are made from 18g 1/4" ID rings in bright aluminum with copper detail.

Captive Inverted Round Choker

Unlike most items on this site, this choker is made from stainless steel. There's really no other material that's right for it. I originally made it from galvanized steel which looked fine for the rugged look, but that only lasts until it's left in humid air...
